Our Story
Since
1969 Margaret and I (Tony) have served the Lord as church-planting missionaries.
In 1973 we both returned home, she from Spain and I from Colombia. After marrying
we returned to Cartagena, Colombia where we served another four years. The work
there is now under the leadership of nationals. The national church runs a Bible-training
school and has sent its own missionaries to Central America and to Africa.
We left Colombia to begin works in Peru and Chile. Tony was Area Director for many years, overlooking works in Ecuador, Peru, Brazil and Colombia. We returned to the US in 1984 to begin yet another ministry, this time in Mexico.
God had placed a vision in my heart of working with un-reached peoples. We took a trip to Baja, Mexico and found workers in the tomato fields from many different Indian tribes. They were working for just pennies a day, lived in cardboard shacks, had no running water and no bathrooms. Many of these people came from Oaxaca in southern Mexico to try to make a living for their families. I realized these were the people God wanted me to reach with the Gospel.
Instead of moving to Mexico and starting a new church God lead us to network with churches here in the United States to bring teams of youth and adults to help the local pastors and reach the labor camps with the Gospel.
Because of this ministry many churches have been started in Baja, as well as Sonora and Oaxaca. These are the three main areas where we have national pastors, churches, home cells and Bible-Training Schools. Training pastors and the church family how to talk to others about their faith and how to start new home cells is the goal. They will be able to carry on the ministry long after Margaret and I are gone.
We have used open-air meetings, videos, VBS programs, medical clinics and social outreaches. We're excited about new areas and villages that are open to having us start home cells. If you are interested in being a part of a team to go to Mexico or in helping to support this ministry financially then get in touch with us. We will be glad to hear from you.
