Ensenada

Ensenada is a city of 700,000 people, located approximately three hours south of San Diego, California on the West Coast of the Baja peninsula . It's a city that exists mainly on tourism and fishing. On the outskirts of Ensenada is the local church, La Trinidad. We met Pastor Ramon and Conchita in 1985 on one of our first trips to scout out ministry possibilities, not knowing exactly where God was going to lead us. We've been working together ever since then.

Our first ministry there was in the Indian labor camps. Indians come from their homes far away to pick in the tomato fields. Many of these migrant workers come from Oaxaca. They travel thousands of miles to earn money for their families. Ensenada is where our first Oaxacan Indians were saved and later trained to become church leaders.

Since 1985 God, along with churches in the US, has helped us to construct a multi-use building that serves as kitchen, dining room as well as a place to hold VBS programs. We invite churches with doctors, nurses and dentists to become part of an Easter or Summer team to use their talents to serve God and a poor, needy community.

Visiting teams that minister in Ensenada and surrounding areas stay at the church, camping out in the Sunday-school rooms. Since the beginning of our ministry there God has provided many "extras" like new restrooms and showers.

"Ministry out-stations" to the Ensenada church include orphanages, other local churches and labor camps. Teams provide their own food and prepare their own meals. If you or your church want to get involved get in touch with us. See picture gallery
