Colonia Guerrero

Tony

Many times during the year has teams going to Baja to minister. Ensenada is called base camp one and three hours further South is Colonia Guerrero, what we call base camp two. We actually started our Indian labor-camps outreach in this small town in 1985. For many years we didn't have a church building but we continued witnessing and visiting those who made decisions to accept Christ.

Thanks to a generous offering from a partner church land was purchased and a small, rustic meeting place was built by our construction team. Every week the Las Missions is packed with people from the Triqui Indian Tribe. The church there is a key focus for this community. Many of our first converts that were children are now grown and teach the Sunday school classes.

The visiting teams come and present VBS programs using puppets, crafts, music and drama. Evening services are filled with testimonies and preaching. We also minister to other local churches, encouraging pastors and church families to evangelize their neighborhoods for Christ.

The Children's Kitchen:  A desire was in our hearts to help feed the children in and around the church. A room was added to the church building that now has a kitchen with a sink and stove. Money is regularly needed to to help buy the needed food. Right now we are feeding the kids once a month after Sunday school but our plans are to do this every Sunday. All that is stopping us is the funds to purchase the needed food.

Pastor Leo leads the "Las Misiones" and now a second church with a mature couple leads the Bible studies. If you would like to help Feed the Children just send your gift to WMFC and mark it for Children's kitchen.
